Mountain Landscape near Düsseldorf
A rugged mountain scene alive with motion by Gerard van Nijmegen
Gerard van Nijmegen saw this scene with his own eyes. Travelling along the Rhine in 1788, he came across a landscape with ruins and drovers guiding an ox-wagon over a wooden bridge, and he described it in his journal.
